We have been trying hard to keep our prices as stable as possible throughout the winter season. However, we have made the decision to increase our delivery charges as of 7th March 2022. The increase will be as follows:
- 0 -20 minutes now £5
- 20 – 25 minutes £10 (which is made up of £5 0 -20 minutes + £5 20 – 25 minutes)
- 25 minutes+ will be charged as before with the addition of the £5 for 0 – 25 minutes
We have kept our delivery charges the same since we launched Kingdom Firewood in 2017 but the rising cost of fuel as well as the rising cost of haulage costs from all of our suppliers means that we now need to increase our delivery charges.
Diesel was £1.22 per litre when we first started delivering our kiln dried firewood throughout Fife. It was £1.73 the last time David filled up the tank and it is expected to be £1.82 by the end of the week! That’s an additional £600 per 1000 litres. Crazy stuff!
Our haulage costs have increased significantly in the last 6 months and this is largely due to the increases in fuel. This affects our firewood bags, our firelighters, our briquettes and our firewood. All of which have increased in price without the haulage costs even included.
We are a small business with families of our own all living in Fife. We know all too well the pressure everyone is experiencing with rising food and energy costs. That is why it is with regret that we need to increase our delivery charges as we know everyone is already facing rising costs.
We recently ran a charity promotion with Cosy Kingdom to help keep Fifers cosy this winter and raised £438. Cosy Kingdom offer free debt and energy advice to individuals and families throughout Fife who are struggling to heat their homes. They also offer a Handy Service where they can install LED lightbulbs, warm curtains, radiator panels, draught proofing, hot water cylinder jackets and pipe insulation to those eligible. We hope to run another promotion with them soon.
We hope you understand our reasons for increasing our delivery charges and look forward to keeping you cosy next winter.
